This pendant represents a faithful reproduction of the Chrismon , one of the oldest symbols of Christianity. First used during the time of Emperor Constantine , the Chrismon marked the beginning of official recognition of Christianity in the Roman Empire.
It is formed by the Greek letters ji (Chi) and ro (P) , which are the first two letters of the name Christ in Greek: χριστός ( Christós ), which means "the anointed one" . These letters are superimposed, creating an elegant design full of history. On the sides appear the alpha (A) and the omega (Ω) , the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. According to Christian tradition, they symbolize that God is the beginning and the end of all things .
This symbol was not only used on military standards, but was also adopted as a sign of protection, spiritual victory, and hope . Today, the Chrismon remains a reminder of the origins of Christianity and its spread during the Roman Empire.
