The strigil or Stri gilis in Latin, was a great ally in the hygiene of both the Greeks and the Romans. At that time they did not know soap, so they soaked their bodies with oils and then used strigil to scratch their skin and "exfoliate" it and thus remove traces of sweat and oils.
Our strigil is made by hand, with wrought iron and perfectly recreates this well-known Roman hygiene utensil.
