Replica of a 4th-century African Sigillata lamp found in Roman Barcelona. The original piece is housed at the MUHBA (Museum of Archaeology and Natural History). Other pieces are also held in the National Archaeological Museum and in many other parts of the empire.
Characteristics:
- Christian Chrismon (Chi-Rho) on the central disc
- Petal decoration on the border
- Plant motif printed on the base
- Material: Red clay molded with a mold
- Measurements: 12 × 7.5 × 4 cm
- Weight: 116g approx.
History: Hayes II form, produced in workshops in North Africa during the late Roman Empire. The chrismon symbolized divine protection after Constantine's conversion. These lamps ran on olive oil and a wick made of flax or plant fibers.
Ideal for: collectors, Roman archaeology enthusiasts, historical decor, or unique gifts. All lamps can be used today.
