How to use it?

You can write on it with a pointed tool. We recommend a Roman nail, for example. (But if you don't have one, use a craft awl.) If you want to paint it, you can use acrylic or water-based paints. Be sure to remove any dust from scratching the plaque first. Finally, you can use a lacquer spray. This will seal the design.
