This seal is made to close any papyrus roll. It is designed to be put on and taken off without damaging the seal. In the past, the seal served to protect the inviolability of any document. If the seal was broken it meant that the document, letter or tablet, had already been opened. It would be something like today's plastic seals.
To use it and not damage it, you will only have to turn the cord several times and carefully place it on the roll.
