This Roman ink is made following an ancient recipe. Its ingredients include oak galls, gum arabic, and iron sulfate. It is a completely handmade ink.
Iron gall ink is ideal for writing on papyrus sheets, just as it was done in ancient times.
At first its color is light, but as our Roman ink dries, it becomes darker due to oxidation.
It comes in a small glass bottle of about 10 ml. It is sealed with a hand-sealed cork stopper and a Roman ring. The wax seal features a representation of the god Mercury.
