This Roman ink is made following an ancient recipe. Some of its ingredients are oak galls, gum arabic and iron sulfate. It is an ink made by hand in a completely artisanal way.
Ferrogallic ink is ideal for writing on papyrus leaves, just as it was done in ancient times.
At first its color is light, but as our Roman ink dries, it becomes darker due to oxidation.
It comes in a small glass bottle of about 10 ml. It is closed with a hand-sealed cork stopper with a Roman ring. The figure of the god Mercury can be seen represented on the wax seal.
