Almost seventeen centuries ago, when Rome still ruled the world, someone carved these words into a small dice tower. It wasn't just a toy. It was a statement: no cheating here.
The turricula was born for this. So that luck was truly luck. The dice fell down its internal ramps, spinning uncontrollably, without any skilled or dishonest hand being able to twist fate. Martial himself immortalized it in verse:
"The cheating hand that throws loaded dice… if it throws them through me, it will get nothing but hopes."
This piece is a handcrafted wooden reproduction of a real specimen, preserved in the Bonn Museum and found in Germanic lands. It bears the original inscription:
