Ceramic reproduction of an Etruscan original. In antiquity, it was common to make animal-shaped vessels, and there are numerous examples of zoomorphic Etruscan vases.
This piece reproduces a boar-shaped vessel. Although we know its Etruscan origin, no additional information about the original specimen has been preserved, so we cannot specify its find site, chronology, or archaeological context.
A curious and unusual piece to approach Etruscan ceramics and the tradition of representing animals in vessels intended to contain small quantities of liquids, oils, or perfumes.
