Xylospongium or Tersorium, which means "sponge on a stick"

Recreation of a cleaning utensil with which, supposedly, the ancient Romans cleaned their private parts after going to relieve themselves in the latrines.

It consists of:

  • a sea sponge (imitation)
  • A dark-colored wooden stick (apple tree)
  • A jute cord or rope to hold the sponge.
